Measurement Principle Cloud condensation nuclei counter. A wetted thermal-gradient column generates a controlled water-vapour supersaturation; particles that activate to droplets are counted by an OPC. The Kohler curve relates the column temperature gradient to the SS%, so sweeping the gradient sweeps the activation threshold.
